See - Twice!

Yay, I managed twice before the month was out!!

Here we see the Biscotti socks finished. Details here or below.

The yarn is super shiny and comfy. The stitches did seem to even out after I was finished.

I have 8oz of merino tencel wool to spin up from Susan in Clematis which is not first on the list to spin but is lovely. The purchase in the first place was to bolster an order for her spinning wheel drive bands. It also works really well. I will buy from her again!

I finished this last week too (it was a busy week).

This is -of course- the Kiri. It was made up with three balls of Kid Silk Spray (purchased at a ridiculous price, details here). The pattern was so much fun to follow and I ended up with almost the exact size in the pattern.

Fancy detail shot to show the fuzzyness.

I got to try out my new blocking wires on this pattern. It made the process so much more pleasurable.

Next up a very pretty skein of sock yarn from Madelinetosh. It's part of her project spectrum sock a long and while I'm not actively participating in the "along" I am loving these colours!! These are going to be a super summer sock very very soon.

Last but not least is the scarf I made from the roving I showed you a couple posts ago (here to be exact).

The roving was amazing to spin and the scarf is exactly what I wanted, light and colourful.

Well, I think that's all the news from here. I'm sure I'll be back soonish ;-)

who knew - I can post more than once a month!

Or at least I hope I can. Here's what I've been up to!

On my last trip to Knit-Knackers they had in some mill ends yarn from one of their distributers. It is very tightly spun and just a smidge over fingering. It was cream when it came home with me but just a little Wiltons and I ended up with these.

I love the golden yellow (also the dye name). It came out perfect. I wish the teal had been a little deeper but it's working perfectly so far.

And here's what they are working in.

It is, of course, Enny's Endpaper Mitts. I have just started them but I'm already in love. The colours are working better than I could have imagined.

Next is a pair of "just because" socks for my Dad. Last time Dad loved his socks but complained that the legs were too short (they were only 5" but I was terrified of running out of yarn). This time they were 7 1/2" and he still wants an extra inch or two. It's going to take two balls of yarn to make him happy I guess.

This pic also shows of my Mom's latest Value Village find. They are adjustable sock blockers (they are a little large but I can squeeze them down to fit my size socks). They show the pattern so much better than a limp sock.

The last pretty is one of two socks meant for my lucky feet.

It is a simple garter rib from SSS. The yarn is the real prize. It is a merino/tencel blend from Susan's Spinning Bunny the colourway is called
Anshan's Biscotti and it is lovely. The yarn made for some slightly uneven stitches but I'm sure they will even out with a wash and a wear.

I'm already on the leg of the next and can't wait to have them finished!

With any luck I should have a finished Kiri shawl blocked and ready for pictures next time round. Just realized I didn't take picutres of the scarf I promised from last time. Oh well - more incentive for me to get off my but and post more often!
